Beginning Glass Bead Making Class with Jennifer
I have set up my studio for 3 students. I have 3 torch stations, 3 sets of tools, and plenty of glass. I would like to schedule a class for September. This is a two day class on a Saturday and Sunday. I am considering the weekend of September 15-16 and/or September 29-30. This is a Beginning Bead Making class. I have three seats available in each class. You will learn how to make glass beads, stringers, twisties, sculpture, hollow beads, and many techniques. I will supply all materials. The class runs $200 per person for two days. 9am - 5pm or so. I will work later, if you want to.
In this class, you will learn about safety, equipment (oxygen and propane torches), ergonomics, physical and chemical properties of glass, beadmaking basics, preparations and clean up, and of course, many bead making and decorating techniques. Some of these include pulling stringer, decorating with frit, making two color twisties, making dots, twisting dots, layering dots, feathering and raking, distorting the surface, applying murrine, basic encasing, mixing colors, droopy beads, hollow beads, silver foil & gold leaf, and basic sculpture. Oh my, so much to learn in two days!!!
